NASHVILLE, Tenn.
Country legend « George Jones » has passed away. It happened at 5:22am at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He had been admitted for a fever and irregular blood pressure. George had been battling some health problems as of late, and had to cancel a few shows on his farewell tour. The Opry and Country Music Hall of Fame member had such a personal impact on so many. Country radio personality and friend Charlie Chase spoke with us Monday morning. He talked to us about George and his wife Nancy. Chase was a longtime friend of the Jones’. After a career that spanned 5 decades, the number of artists who were influenced by George Jones is immeasurable. He touched not only those in country music, but those in our community as well.
